Custom Hockey Mouthguards

Pucks, sticks, boards and collisions put your teeth at risk on every shift. Mouthguards help protect against chipped, cracked or knocked-out teeth in sports with a high risk of falls or contact, such as hockey. AlienGuards are made from an impression of your own teeth, so the guard fits your bite, not a size chart.

Models for hockey

Origin Pro ($94.99) is our maximum-protection model, with extended teeth, gum and jaw coverage for high-contact sports. It can carry colors, text, a logo or full custom art, including your team's colors.

NanoBite ($64.99) is our ultra-slim, low-profile guard. It's the best of our models for breathing and talking, which helps on long shifts and when you need to call for the puck. Use the model comparison to decide between the two.

Custom fit vs. stock guards

Stock guards are pre-formed and offer basic protection. Boil-and-bite guards are softened in hot water and bitten into for a closer fit. A custom guard is made from an impression of your teeth, so it's more comfortable and secure, it doesn't slip or fall out, and it's easier to keep in for a full game. Custom guards usually cost more than over-the-counter options; you are paying for that fit, comfort and durability.

Your impression becomes a plaster model of your bite. We pressure-form dental-grade material over it and finish every guard by hand in our San Jose, CA lab.

How ordering works

Build your guard online and we ship you an at-home impression kit. Taking the impression takes about 10 minutes, and the putty sets in 2 minutes 30 seconds; the impression guide walks you through it. Mail the impression back to our lab, and your guard is crafted within 10–14 business days after we receive a good impression, then shipped with tracking. Not sure your impression worked? Email a photo to support@alienguards.com and we will tell you if it can be used.

Youth players

Tell us the athlete's age when you build. Younger players' teeth are still changing, so plan to replace their guard more often. For everyone else, we recommend replacing your guard every year, or sooner if it gets damaged or worn.
